Zico hospitalized prior to NXPE-Omega clash

Nexplay EVOS star Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse lauded coach John Michael “Zico” Dizon for soldiering on during their match against Omega Esports on Sunday night.

“Labyu, Zico. Kahit may sakit ka pre, ginawa mo pa rin [yung] best mo para makapag-draft,” tweeted RENEJAY moments after Nexplay EVOS’ first win of the season.

“Labyu boss Mid sa ‘pag paalala ng mga mali namin.”

According to a Facebook post by Nexplay EVOS manager Baby Ignacio, Zico was hospitalized earlier in the day. Though he did not reveal the reason in the post, RENEJAY said that the first-year coach suffered from stomach ache.

He was then discharged at exactly 6:00 PM – giving him enough time to rest and then, later on, coach and draft for Nexplay EVOS.

“Masakit yung tiyan niya kanina. Sa tiyan yung problema, ‘di ko alam kung anong sakit pero naging okay naman siya kanina nakapag draft naman siya nang maayos,” said RENEJAY, a native of Bataan.

“Buti hindi siya player. Mahirap yun ‘pag player siya.”

Zico’s wards made sure to give him a fitting welcome gift, securing a 2-1 victory over the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup champions in the grandest of ways.

Nexplay EVOS is now at the seventh spot with three points through a 1-3 standing.

The team is set to continue their fine form against RSG PH on Friday at 6:00 PM.
