Yukien Andrada, John Abis join PBA rosters as Magnolia, Ginebra gear up for Sunday games

Heading into the final day of the 2025-26 PBA Philippine Cup, Magnolia and Ginebra have signed and activated their respective draftees from this season’s draft on Saturday.

Just days after playing their final games in the NCAA Season 101 Seniors Basketball Tournament, Yukien Andrada of San Beda University and John Abis of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA were activated by Magnolia and Ginebra, respectively. The terms of their deals were not disclosed.

Yukien Andrada, the younger brother of former Alaska big man Yutien, was selected sixth overall by Magnolia in the PBA Season 50 Draft.

In his final year with the Red Lions, the 6-foot-5 forward averaged 11.12 points on 37.72% shooting from three, along with 3.94 rebounds and 1.29 assists per game.

Andrada delivered a memorable performance in Game 2 of the NCAA finals, scoring 21 points on four triples while adding five rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and two steals — capping off his San Beda career in style.

Head coach LA Tenorio was also activated by Magnolia ahead of their clash against TNT on Sunday.

Andrada will join the Hotshots as the 15th man on the roster following the trade of Joseph Eriobu to Terrafirma.

Meanwhile, John Abis, a 6-foot-3 forward from Muntinlupa City, was the 23rd overall pick in the same draft.

In his final NCAA season with the Altas, the 25-year-old averaged 9.35 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.76 assists, and 1.06 steals per game, helping Perpetual Help finish third in the tournament.

Abis is expected to make his debut on Sunday during Ginebra’s game against Titan Ultra and will be the 14th man on the Gin Kings’ roster.
