Yawi returns to MPL PH, joins TNC Pro Team

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

After two seasons in MPL Indonesia, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera is coming home.

TNC Pro Team announced on Thursday that the talented roamer has officially joined their roster.

The news follows Team Liquid Indonesia’s farewell to Yawi and fellow player James “Jeymz” Gloria, which was shared just a day prior.

“After competing in MPL ID, we’re thrilled to welcome Yawi to the Phoenix Army,” TNC shared on their social media pages, expressing excitement over their latest acquisition.

Yawi made a significant impact during his stint in MPL Indonesia, particularly in Seasons 13 and 14 with Team Liquid.

While his debut season presented challenges, including a 5th-6th place finish, it was in Season 14 that he truly shone.

Despite spending much of the season as a reserve, Yawi played a key role in helping Team Liquid secure the MPL Indonesia title, narrowly defeating RRQ Hoshi 4-3 in an epic grand final showdown.

Now back in the Philippines, the 22-year-old roamer brings his championship experience and international expertise to TNC Pro Team.

With the MPL Philippines Season 15 on the horizon, fans eagerly await Yawi’s highly anticipated return to the local scene.
