Bryan Faundo chose a unique jersey number when he signed with Bulacan in the Chooks-to-Go MPBL.
Instead of wearing his trademark 00, the 37-year-old native of Sison, Pangasinan decided to wear no. 69.
And it’s not because of a gag or any malicious reason.
“Yung 69 kahit baliktarin mo 69 pa rin,” he quipped.
“Yun yung reason kaya yun yung reason kaya 69. Kahit bumaliktad ang mundo, ganun pa rin.”
After a steady 2020 PBA Philippine Cup campaign with Meralco, he was shipped to Blackwater early this year.
The Bossing opted not to sign him. It led him to sign with Phoenix Super LPG.
However, his stint with Phoenix would not last long as he was nursing an injury.
A new opportunity arose when he was signed by the Kuyas.
“Yung pinagdaanan ko nun, hindi ako nakakapaglaro tapos ngayon nabigyan ulit ako ng opportunity,” he said.
Faundo ended up averaging 16.4 points and 10.0 rebounds for Bulacan, showing that he still got it.
Definitely, the twists and turns Faundo experienced have only made him stronger.
