MPL PH: Vintage Pheww powers Falcons AP.Bren to second straight win against Blacklist

Falcons AP.Bren continued their resurgence with a dominant performance, sweeping Blacklist International 2-0 to conclude their Week 2 campaign in MPL Philippines Season 14 on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

The victory improved FCAP’s record to 2-1, allowing them to overtake Aurora for the third spot in the standings.

Blacklist International, backed by Tier One, showed promise early in Game 2 but ultimately failed to capitalize on their early game advantage.

FCAP assistant coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez attributed this to a lack of team chemistry.

“Tingin ko sobrang wala pa talaga silang chemistry kasi ayun nga, palit-palit sila ng player. Sobrang hirap kasi talaga ng 10-man roster. Kaya siguro ganun nangyari sa mga pickoff nila. Kahit nakapurify, dapat di talaga bibigyan eh. Sobrang dun sila nalulugi eh. Sa chemistry talaga,” explained Trebor, commenting on Blacklist’s struggles, especially with integrating several new players following the departure of three mainstays from last season’s roster.

In Game 1, Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel delivered a phenomenal performance on Faramis, boasting a 3-1-7 KDA and leading the reigning IESF world champions to a swift 14-minute victory.

Game 2 saw Blacklist International initially take control, with Michael “MP the King” Endino (Lancelot) achieving a 2-1-5 KDA.

However, FCAP turned the tide after Pheww (Valentina) secured a crucial Lord steal in the 11th minute.

The two-time MPL champions maintained their momentum, with Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano (Moskov) spearheading the assault.

Super Marco finished the game with a 3-0-3 KDA, sealing the sweep for FCAP.

FCAP will aim for a third straight win against RSG Philippines on Friday, August 30.
