The TNT Katropa will play through Game Four of their semifinal series versus tne Barangay Ginebra San Miguel a man short, as import Glen Rice, Jr. was disqualified at the game’s early goings, Sunday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
The 26-year-old reinforcement’s ejection from the match stemmed from the altercation he had with Gin Kings’ rookie forward Kevin Ferrer, who has been playing mind games with him since Game Three last Friday.
Ferrer was bodying up Rice, Jr. even if it was already a dead ball situation with 1:41 left in the first, with TNT up 35-23. The American obviously did not like Ferrer’s antics, prompting him to ward off the latter and throw the ball directly at him while he was on the floor.
The former Washington Wizard was then assessed with a flagrant foul penalty one and a technical foul for his actions, leading to the very early disqualification. He exited the game with two points, five assists, three rebounds, and a steal.
