The Philips Gold Lady Slammers announced their move from the Philippine Superliga to the Shakey’s V-League yesterday.
Apparently, head coach Francis Vicente is still in limbo with the shift.
“Management prerogative ‘yan. Ako nalilito ako. Magulo pa rin ang isipan ko. Mga kaibigan ko ‘yung mga nasa PSL. Kaibigan ko din si Attorney (Eric Ty, team manager). Tinitimbang ko pa kung ano ‘yung mangyayari,” Vicente told Tiebreaker Times.
Vicente said he was initially shocked when he heard the news during a meeting, but the reasons were explained to him, the details of which he could not reveal.
The PSL has helped Vicente in many ways, most especially in his development as a coach. He did not want to make any sudden decisions.
“Kasi sa akin as a professional, sinuwelduhan ka na, alangan naman basta-basta mo na lang bibitawan. Panget naman on my part – unprofessional. Siyempre I have to take into consideration yung PSL, isa rin yan sa mga tulong sa akin sa coaching. Kung hindi din naman dahil sa kanila, hindi ko rin makikilala si Attorney.”
As of now, Vicente is still with the the Lady Slammers.
“But I’m still thinking kung saan ako mai-stay. So depende. Ayoko mag-jump. Nag-eenjoy ako with Attorney, maganda ang trato sa akin. At the same time, puro kaibigan natin ang nasa PSL, mahirap din kumalas.”
