UP’s ‘residency boys’ suit up for Guang Ming in BLIA Cup

University of the Philippines’ “residency boys” are staying busy during their sit-out year.

Veejay Pre, James Payosing, Rainer Maga, and Russell Ogana are reinforcing Guang Ming College for its campaign in the 2025 BLIA Cup University Basketball Invitational.

Joining them is incoming junior Seven Gagate.

Pre, Payosing, Maga, and Ogana are currently serving their one-year residency after transferring to UP.

The quintet will join the likes of Chibuzor Ihebem, Victor Akinyede, Brian Topacio, and Shan Arnejo to represent the Dragons.

Guang Ming College is grouped with National Taiwan Normal University (July 1, 10:40 AM), Hou Chon Sports Club (July 2, 6:20 PM), and Victoria Select Team (July 3, 12:20 PM).

The top two teams in each pool will advance to the crossover semifinals.

Meanwhile, in the women’s division, defending UAAP champions National University Lady Bulldogs and the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons will also see action.
