UAAP will stick to old awarding system

According to a source closely monitoring the situation, the UAAP will continue its tradition of awarding players based on leaders in each measured skill this season.

The NCAA took a leap this year, following the FIVB’s way of naming an all-tournament team, recognizing the best player in each position.

Even though there was clamor for the UAAP to follow suit, they ultimately forewent the change since it was not discussed in the official board meeting prior to Season 79.

The UAAP will name the Best Scorer, Best Attacker, Best Server, Best Setter, Best Digger, Best Receiver, Rookie of the Year, and Most Valuable Player in a ceremony prior to Game Two of the Finals on May 6 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
