Things got scary during Meralco’s practice on Wednesday after Trevis Jackson went down with an apparent back injury.
The rookie guard fell badly after grabbing a rebound during one of the Bolts’ scrimmages. He remained on the floor for minutes, which – according to witnesses – was uncharacteristic of him since he’s usually quick to get back up on his feet.
Team staff had to wheel Jackson off a stretcher before rushing him to Medical City, which is near Meralco Gym.
There is no official diagnosis to the Filipino-American’s injury as of this posting.
Should the injury turn out serious, Jackson will join the Bolts’ injury list. Currently, Ranidel De Ocampo is on the sidelines due to back spasms, while Mike Tolomia due to tendonitis on his right knee.
Still, coach Norman Black remains positive despite the injuries that have been bothering the team.
“We’ll be okay,” the champion mentor said. “We have a long way to go before the (PBA Governors’ Cup) starts.”
