TNC Predator survived Reckoning Esports’ gallant stand to keep their title-retention bid alive in the Asia Pacific Predator League 2020-21 Grand Final, Friday evening.
The all-Filipino squad leaned on star midlaner Armel “Armel” Tabios who put up a classic Templar Assassin performance to lead his squad to the lower bracket finals.
The 21-year-old Armel dropped 18 kills and 16 assists against just three deaths to spearhead TNC Predator’s 39-20 best-of-one win over their fellow Filipinos.
A roshan kill entering 37-minute mark tipped the scales entirely on TNC’s favor as Julius “JG” Galeon’s Terrorblade dropped his Divine Rapier — which was supposed to turn things around for Reckoning Esports — after he was burst down by Timothy “Tims” Randrup’s Lion.
Armel was able to pick up the Divine Rapier which forced the JG-led Reckoning Esports to call gg.
TNC carry Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte finished with nine kills, six deaths, and 18 assists while offlaner Jun “Bok” Kanehara added six kills and 17 assists.
Marvin “Boomy” Rushton dished out a game-high 22 assists laced with a kill and six deaths while Tims had a 5-5-12 stat line.
Former Execration midlaner Argle “Ken” Llesis (Puck) put up nine kills and three assists against two deaths for Reckoning Esports while JG had a kill, two deaths, and two assists.
TNC will be going up against the loser between the OB Esports x Neon-Boom Esports upper bracket finals match-up for the final slot in the grand finale.
