The also-ran TNC ended its campaign on a high note, taking down ONIC PH via a 2-0 sweep in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Sunday afternoon.
With the win, TNC capped off its season with a 4-10 standing with 14 points.
Excellent rotations from Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo (Pharsa) and Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Franco) pushed TNC to an early lead in Game One.
ONIC PH evened the scales by taking the Luminous Lord past the 16-minute mark, however, crucial initiations from Benthings and multiple flanks from Landher “Der” San Gabriel’s Thamuz in the late game gave the win to TNC.
Toshi, who supplied most of the damage from TNC’s side, was named the SMART 5G MVP with two kills and 11 assists against just one death in the 25-11 victory.
“Sa tulong din po talaga ng kakampi, sa TNC po,” said Der after the win.
Game Two went down as the longest match this season and TNC came out victorious after Clarense “Kousei” Camilo (Chou) and Toshi (Kaja) sniped down Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s Fanny which opened up a free shot at the Luminous Lord.
TNC went for the death push as soon as the Luminous Lord marched down the middle lane.
Der bagged the SMART 5G MVP with four kills, two deaths, and six assists in the match which lasted for 41 minutes and 36 seconds.
ONIC PH, which already secured its spot in the upper bracket, ended the regular season with a 9-5 standing with 27 points – good for the second spot.
