Thirdy Ravena and San-En could not recover from a lackadaisical second quarter, suffering a 75-86 loss to Osaka in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.
Crushing was the defeat as it was the NeoPhoenix’s 13th straight loss to fall to 3-18 in B.League West.
And a lackadaisical second frame led to San-En’s downfall.
Ending the first frame knotted at 28-all, San-En fired blanks in the second quarter, shooting just 3-of-14 from the field for just seven points.
On the other end, Joseph Diawara pumped eight of Evessa’s 20 points, helping his side gain a 48-35 lead.
The lead of Osaka would go to as high as 21 points, 86-65, after a David Doblas bucket with 3:16 left.
Osaka, who went up to 11-10, was led by DJ Newbill once more, dropping 25 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Hiromo Nakamura got 16 points while Ira Brown got 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Thirdy Ravena finished the game with 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting with four assists and three rebounds for San-En.
Robert Carter led the NeoPhoenix with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Yusei Sugiura also got 10 points.
Thirdy Ravena and San-En will look to snap their skid on Christmas weekend against Mikawa at Wing Arena.
