Globalport Batang Pier star Terrence Romeo was on pace to have a stellar outing Sunday afternoon versus the Blackwater Elite, already scoring 13 in the first half. But an ill-advised act from his part ended his game right away.
The 25-year-old was thrown out of the game with 5:01 left in the second quarter after a scuffle with Elite import Henry Walker, who was defending him. According to Romeo, he did not like the way he was being locked down.
“Inaano niya ‘ko ng hips niya eh,” he described, while inside the Batang Pier’s locker room at Ynares Center. “Delikado kasi eh. So kahit hindi ka tamaan, yung act na pagganun niya, pwedeng maapektuhan yung galaw ko nun.”
Romeo was actually called for a dribbling violation prior to the disqualifying foul. And with his disappointment also with Walker’s defense, the flashy combo guard then threw the ball to the much taller American wingman.
The Far Eastern University product admitted he did not have an idea that his act would lead to being ejected. But Romeo was quick to add that it was just a result of being frustrated, as his team was down during that time.
“‘Di ko alam na thrown out pala ‘pag ganun,” admitted the veteran internationalist. “Alam niyo naman na naghahabol kami.
“Siyempe frustration na rin ‘di ba. Nagalit ako.”
