“Hindi namin puwede pabayaan yung isa’t isa.”
With 4:01 left in the third frame, Roger Pogoy figured in a confrontation with Chris Goulding and later on a physical encounter with Daniel Kickert.
As Thon Maker tried to joined the fray, Romeo threw a sucker punch to the back of Maker’s head. Maker tried to retaliate with a flying kick but it badly missed.
“Kung embarrassing kami sa mata niyo ba’t di kayo mag-convert ng Australian,” the tweet added.
Romeo was one of the nine Gilas players ejected from the game.
As the tweet drew mixed reviews from social media, Romeo rebutted the naysayers — saying that it was their job to stand their ground as Filipinos.
“Kahit anong sabihin niyo, naglalaro kami para sa isa’t isa at para sa kapwa nating Pilipino. Higit sa lahat para sa bayan. Hindi niyo alam ang sacrifice namin.
“Kung para sa inyo mali na tulungan namin yung kakampi naming sinasaktan problema niyo na yun basta kami walang iwanan tapos!!!” he closed.
