Team Liquid PH sweeps TNC, keeps MPL PH UB hopes alive

Team Liquid PH secured their fifth win in six matches with a 2-0 sweep of TNC Pro Team in Week 5 of the MPL Philippines on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

The victory improved their record to 6-3, keeping them in close pursuit of Aurora (7-1) and ONIC Philippines (6-2) for the two outright upper bracket playoff spots, while dropping TNC to 3-6.

The defending champions set the tone early, with Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno delivering a flawless performance on Lancelot, finishing Game 1 with a 2-0-9 KDA and an 11-minute rout.

Team Liquid PH maintained their momentum in Game 2, introducing Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz on the Novaria roam pick for the season.

They seized control as early as the 5th minute, thanks to Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s (Granger) double kill.

Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Lapu-Lapu) aggressively flanked TNC’s backline, allowing TLPH to dominate teamfights and objectives, eventually closing the match in 14 minutes.

Team Liquid PH now looks to avenge an earlier season loss when they face league-leading Aurora on Friday, September 26.
