SMART Omega gains lead in Dota Pro Circuit SEA Qualifiers Group B


Smart Omega grabbed pole position in Group B after nabbing different results on day two of the Dota Pro Circuit: Season One Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier Stage Two, Saturday evening. 

Omega settled for a 1-1 draw against Army Geniuses in their first match of the day. They later took a 2-0 sweep against ZeroTwo to put up a 2-1-0 record. The Smart-backed squad has now won a total of five out of their six matches.

Justin “Tino” Grimaldo took the spotlight against Zero Two, posting a monster 16-0-6 stat line in Game One using Morphling to set the team’s tempo in the series. He also had a game-high 20,921 total net worth through 237 last hits and 18 denied creeps.

Smart Omega outscored the Indonesian, 32-16, in 32 minutes and seven seconds of play.

Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva (Pangolier) added four kills, three deaths, and 16 assists. Meanwhile, offlaner Jun “Bok” Kanehara (Nature’s Prophet) chipped in six kills, three deaths, and 17 assists in Game One.

Ng Kee “ChYuan” Chyuan led the way for ZeroTwo with seven kills, five deaths, and four assists with Leshrac.

Omega then went for the jugular in Game Two, outscoring ZeroTwo 41-13 in 30 minutes and 30 seconds of game time.

Tino once again dominated his lane with 16 kills, zero deaths, and 10 assists using Io. Mac contributed 11 kills, a death, and 15 assists with his Void Spirit.

Omega team captain Marvin “Boomy” Rushton pumped in five kills, three deaths, and 16 assists with his support Puck.

On the other hand, ChYuan was held to just four kills, nine deaths, and four assists. Randy “Dreamocel” Sapoetra had three kills, two deaths, and an assist playing Phantom Assassin.

Smart Omega will play against Team SMG and Yangon Galacticos on January 10, Sunday.
