SEA Games: Sibol Men’s ML in ‘safer group’, Women’s side in ‘Group of Death’

Sibol’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Men’s Team will start their campaign to retain their gold medal in Group A, where they will compete against Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, and Timor Leste.

Their most notable opponent in the group is Malaysia, which is composed of MPL Malaysia superstars. Indonesia, who are considered as the country’s biggest threat for the gold medal, are grouped with MPL regions Cambodia, Myanmar, and Singapore, which many consider as the “group of death.”

On the other hand, the Sibol MLBB Women’s Team will have an early clash with gold medal favorites Indonesia in Group A, along with Cambodia. The top two teams in each group of the Men’s and Women’s Tournaments will advance to the medal rounds.

The Sibol Men’s side is bannered by Bren Esports led by Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, David “FlapTzy” Canon, Kyle Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson, Marco “Super Marco” Requitano, Rowgien Stimpson “Owgwen” Unigo and Onic Philippines’ Nowee “Ryota” Macasa.

The Women’s side is comprised of the Smart Omega Empress roster of Kaye Maerylle “Keishi” Alpuerto, Rica Fatima “Amoree” Amores, Sheen “SHINOA” Perez, Mery Christine “Meraaay” Vivero, Gwen “not ayanami” Diagon and Maharlika G-Unit mainstay Dardo.

The Women’s Tournament will be held from May 10-11, while the Men’s tournament is scheduled from May 12-14.

The Philippines has won the gold medal in the men’s event during the past two editions of the SEA Games, while the Women’s Tournament will be making its debut in this year’s competition.
