Sanji pays tribute to MPL PH legends after first career Savage

By: Arjohn Roxas

Sanji carved his name deeper into MPL history, adding a solo milestone to his Hall of Legends-worthy career with his first Savage against AP.Bren.

“Sabi nila kanina bigay na lang sa’kin. Eh nung naka-Maniac na, sabi nila ‘bigay niyo na bigay niyo na,’” he shared in an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times.

For Sanji, being part of the select group of mid laners with a Savage is special, though he paid tribute to the legends who came before him.

“Masarap sa feeling pero mas ano ko pa rin yung mga nauna, kasi yung mga nauna, wala talaga Sky Piercer noon eh, as in yung item nila normal eh,” he explained, citing an item update that helped him secure his first career Savage.

The 19-year-old star admitted he never thought he’d achieve a Savage in his career, especially since he primarily plays a support role rather than a carry role.

“Hindi (ko inexpect) kasi pos4 ako. Parang feel ko mas makukuha ko siya kung gold lane ako or jungler,” Sanji said.

Despite both he and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo taking the first two Savages of the season, Sanji noted that securing one as a mid laner remains difficult, emphasizing that luck and circumstances played a huge part in his achievement.

“Swerte lang ng Savage ko kanina kasi di ako pinapansin ng kalaban. Nakay Kiel (Oheb) pati nakay Karl (KarlTzy) yung focus nila kasi naka YSS, Moskov kami. Mas prinio nila yung marksman namin so naka-free hit ako,” he added.

While the savage will always be a memorable highlight in his career, Sanji made it clear that his ultimate goal goes beyond solo achievements.

“Hindi kasi ang gusto ko lang talaga mag-champion. Kung makapag-Savage man, masarap lang sa feeling,” he said.

Team Liquid Philippines will aim to extend their winning streak to five when they face ONIC Philippines on Saturday, September 20.
