Universal Reality Combat Challenge’s Fight Night just added an old-fashioned bar brawl to its eight-fight fight card.
33-year-old actor Baron Geisler, both known from his on-screen prowess and off-screen ordeals, has accepted the challenge of 25-year-old Filipino-Portuguese fellow actor Kiko Matos to fight inside the URCC cage during the promotion’s Fight Night card schedule on Saturday, June 25 at the Palace Pool Club in Taguig City.
URCC founder Alvin Aguilar toyed with the idea of promoting a fight between the two thespians Monday morning during the promotion’s press conference to promote the event.
“One of the reasons why I started URCC was to give a proper venue for people to settle their differences,” the Brazilian Jiujitsu black belt said about the potential match-up. “If you guys are going to fight at a bar, you guys are both actors and that doesn’t make sense for anybody.”
“Why not settle it like real Filipino men. You go in the cage, you finish it, then after that kamayan na tapos tapos na.”
Moreover, he added that fighting at a bar or the streets would only destroy their names compared to fighting at a sanctioned fight. “Kesa makasakit pa kayo ng ibang tao when you in a bar. You break property, you hurt other people. Magkademandahan pa kayo,” he added.
The URCC received confirmation late Monday evening that Matos has confirmed that he is willing to train for the bout once Geisler accepts his challenge. “Kiko Matos already got in touch with our new match-maker, Ronald Catunao and said that he will fight Baron Geisler inside the URCC cage on June 25, 2016,” the statement read. “Kiko Matos will start training as soon as Baron Geisler confirms as well.”
Tuesday afternoon, the promotion also got word that the controversial actor expressed his confirmation for the bout. “Baron Geisler just contacted our match-maker over the phone and says that he wants to settle everything with Kiko Matos inside the cage on URCC Fight Night this coming June 25, 2016 at the Palace Pool Club,” the recent URCC announcement stated.
Baron Geisler, brother of Olympic jin Donald Geisler, is a practitioner of taekwondo according to Aguilar.
The bad blood between Geisler and Matos started last weekend after a brawl erupted between the two outside of a bar in Quezon City.

“Tumayo ako tapos sinabi ko sa sarili ko subukan nga natin tapang ni Baron Geisler,” Matos told GMA7 show 24 Oras. “So nilapitan ko siya. Tapos inawat kami hangga’t sa naisip ko na lang sige mag-shake hands kami.”
“Baron Geisler ang dami mong sinasabi. Face me, don’t Facebook me.”
On the same program, Geisler responded in saying that he is willing to fight him anytime, anywhere. “Si Kiko Matos, I mean go ahead, I’m willing to fight him, face him, anytime, anywhere,” he answered.
With both men willing to partake in this sanctioned bout, Aguilar and the URCC have vowed to send profits they make in this event to a charitable institution. “If this does push through, you know we will charge tickets but we will give it back to charity,” he closed.
The URCC has yet to confirm the weight both men have to check-in with nor the rules for the bout. Both men have no mixed martial arts experience.
URCC Fight Night will take place on Saturday, June 25 at the Palace Pool Club in Taguig City. Headlining the card is URCC Light Heavyweight Champion Chris Hofmann taking on Arvin Chan in a non-title bout.
