Meralco will be playing a man down for the rest of Game Three of its 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals clash versus Ginebra on Sunday, as Raymond Almazan has been ruled out due to his knee injury.
Bolts team manager Paolo Trillo confirmed the unfortunate development during the halftime intermission.
Trillo added that the team is set to send Almazan to the Makati Medical Center to undergo MRI scan on his left knee.
The 6-foot-8 forward got hurt just six minutes into the game, when he landed on Gin Kings floor general LA Tenorio after going up for a shot. He struggled to get back up and had to be aided.
Almazan was then brought to the locker room and was attended to by league physician Wendell Lozano. The athletic big man from Bataan left the game with two points and two rebounds.
The Letran product is averaging 17.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in the series that is currently tied at 1-1.
