Ramon Gonzales seeks redemption at ONE: Inside The Matrix

Ramon “The Bicolano” Gonzales returns to action against Eko Roni Saputra at the previously-recorded ONE: Inside The Matrix II, a previously recorded event that took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium but airs this Friday, November 6.

The Filipino karateka is raring to return to the Circle after “The Wolf of the Grasslands” Hexigetu delayed his run to the top of the flyweight division at ONE: Age of Dragons last year.

With the loss now in the rear-view mirror, Gonzales looks to rediscover the form that won him three consecutive first-round submission wins – and he plans to do it against Saputra.

But beating the newest rising star from Evolve MMA will be easier said than done.

Saputra is already knocking on the doors of the division’s top contenders. He’s coming into the bout with three straight finishes in the first round – all thanks to his top-notch grappling.

A win here for either athlete will certainly elevate their stature in the loaded weight class.

The headliners of the event are also expected to put on a show.

Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov defends his ONE Welterweight World Title for the first time against unbeaten American James Nakashima.

Abbasov has been on an absolute tear in the welterweight division, highlighted with an impressive shutout decision win over erstwhile World Champion Zebastian “The Bandit” Kadestam last year.

Nakashima, on the other hand, has yet to taste defeat in 12 bouts, running through everyone matchmakers have put in front of him.

In the co-main event, #3-ranked lightweight Pieter “The Archangel” Buist takes on #4-ranked lightweight Timofey Nastyukhin in a match that will determine the next challenger to red-hot ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee.
