Two days before the 30th Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine Women’s National Football Team were left in an uncomfortable state.
In a post by Fil-Am defender Hali Long on social media, she revealed that one of the promises were given to them were not fulfilled.
“Arrived at our SEAG hotel [Whitewoods Nuvali] at 11:30 am. Rooms weren’t ready yet, so we ate lunch while they fixed our rooms,” her post read.
“Instead of two per room, we’ve adjusted to four to five per room.”
At round 2:15pm, staff moved the team to a function room so as to “not crowd the lobby.”
Long rued how they were treated while also empathizing with the guest teams.
“Sad that we’re the host team and this is how we’re being treated. I can’t imagine how other countries must feel.”
The Philippines faces Myanmar on Tuesday at 8:00pm in Binan, Laguna.
