Thrusting the dagger that sent Pocari Sweat to their franchise’s first finals, Elaine Kasilag said it was all heart that brought them to the Promised Land.
“Siguro, puso na lang rin namin na gusto naming manalo,” said Kasilag, who scored 21 points off 18 attacks, in their do-or-die semifinal game against the Bali Pure Purest Water Defenders, Monday night at the Philsports Arena.
“Tiyinaga namin, all praise to God. ‘Yun lang. Naniwala lang kami sa isa’t isa na kaya namin. Tiyinaga lang talaga namin.”
The former Perpetual Help-Lipa standout said their resilience manifested in the adjustments they made after dropping the first game of their best-of-three series.
“Pinaghandaan lang talaga namin ‘yung mga kailangan naming gawin: ‘Yung service, blockings, receive. Bonus na lang ‘yung mga pinapalo namin, kasi more on defense [talaga ‘yung na-train namin],” she said.
On July 13, Kasilag and the Lady Warriors will face the also finals first-timers Air Force Lady Jet Spikers, which outplayed them in their preliminary round outing.
Pocari Sweat will use next week to adjust and prepare for the matchup, she said.
“‘Yung first game [sa elimination round versus Air Force], pag-aaralan ulit namin. Then, i-ssure naman namin na gagawin namin ‘yung best namin para makabawi kami sa kanila,” closed Kasilag.
