PFL: Mendiola, Stallion fight out goalless draw in CPA

Mendiola 1991 and Stallion Laguna were left lamenting another matchday of dropped points after they shared a 0-0 stalemate in the 2022 Copa Paulino Alcantara, Wednesday evening, at the PFF National Training Center in Cavite.

The two clubs, which are still on the lookout for their first win this season, raised the intensity in the last 15 minutes of the contest.

Mendiola’s Alessane Wade had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock for his side, only for him to mis-hit the ball while in front of the goal.

On the other hand, substitute Marwin Angeles saw an attempt of his excruciatingly hit the post with another substitute, Yannick Tuason, only capable of shooting wide on the rebound.

Stallion looked like the team that would get its first win at the end of 90 minutes but Mendiola goalkeeper Michael Asong and his defense always found a way to repel any danger.

Stallion Laguna (2 points) faces Dynamic Herb Cebu on April 25, 2022, with kick-off time scheduled at 4:00 PM. On the other hand, Mendiola’s (2 points) next game is also against Dynamic Herb Cebu on May 2, 2022, 7:15 PM.

Mendiola XI: Asong (GK), Wade, Sam, Dela Torre, Hajimahdi, Salilig, Crestal, Suba Jr, Sandoval, Zabala, Appiah.

Stallion XI: Pepito (GK), Nierras, Silva, McDaniel, Limbo, Pena, Bailey, Delgado, Bedia, Bolden, Encabo.
