Perpetual taps Chieffy Caligdong as head coach

There will be a new face running the show for the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas’ Seniors Football team.

Local football legend Emelio Caligdong, better known as Chieffy, will steer the Perpetual Altas for the NCAA Season 94 Seniors Football Tournament.

“We feel that a legend like Chieffy Caligdong could help us revive out football program and possibly win us an NCAA championship if not this year, but in the near future,” said Perpetual Help wner Dr. Antonio Tamayo.

Caligdong, who retired from the game four years ago, takes over from Aaron Nebreja.

Perpetual last won the NCAA crown back in 1996.

This comes after Perpetual tapped Macky Cariño for their Women’s Volleyball team and Frankie Lim for their Seniors Basketball squad.

With Caligdong in tow, Perpetual are expected to be the landing spot for aspirants from Iloilo.

“He will bring in several players from Barotac Nuevo and we’re excited of the team’s future already,” expressed Tamayo.
