The entire PBA staff was given a special citation in the virtual PBA Press Corps Annual Awards Night, Sunday at the TV5 Media Center.
The 17-man personnel headed by Deputy Commissioner Eric Castro was honored for their admirable, round-the-clock work to ensure the efficient staging of the Philippine Cup bubble in Clark last year.
Castro received the award presented by PBA Press Corps President Gerry Ramos of Spin.ph and Philippine Star’s Bryan Ulanday
The bubble was without a hitch that the season was even feared of being cancelled altogether, but the PBA made sure that it won’t happen. And that’s thanks to all the efforts of the league’s strong-willed crew.
The bubble play turned out to be successful, with Barangay Ginebra emerging as the new all-Filipino kings after beating TNT in five games.
With this, the PBA has also become a model for other local leagues to emulate should they plan to host their own bubbles, especially now that Philippine sports in general are looking to bounce back amidst the pandemic.
