In his first-ever meeting against former Alab Pilipinas teammate Jordan Heading, Jason Brickman showed another facet to his game.
Brickman went on scoring mode on Sunday, lifting Kaohsiung Family Mart to a 92-81 win over Taichung in the 2021-22 T1 Season at Kaohsiung Arena.
The 6-foot Filipino-American, more known for his dazzling assists, put on buckets this time around, finishing with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field. He also had five steals, five assists, and four rebounds.
By the first half, Brickman already put up 16 points, helping the Aquas gain a 48-44 lead at the half.
Entering the final frame clinging to a 71-67 lead, Xavier Alexander buried a triple that triggered a 10-4 run to gain a double-digit lead with 4:57 left.
Taichung was able to cut the lead down to four, 83-79, but Yu Huanya nailed a dagger trey that gave Kaohsiung its third win in as many outings.
Mindaugas Kupšas got 21 points and 13 rebounds while Alexander grabbed 12 rebounds with eight points. Yu added 14 points from off the bench.
Heading cooled down in his second game for Taichung, finishing with just 10 points built on three treys with four rebounds and four assists.
