PBA fines Calvin Abueva 10K

The PBA has slapped Phoenix Fuel Masters forward Calvin Abueva with a fine amounting PHP 10,000 for the inappropriate behavior he displayed last week, Monday afternoon.

Abueva has to pay PHP 4,000 and PHP 6,000 for flashing a dirty finger during the Fuel Masters’ games last October 10 versus the NLEX Road Warriors and against the San Miguel Beermen last October 12.

Phoenix went 1-1 in that stretch.

Abueva got involved in yet another scuffle last October 12, as he and SMB import Kevin Murphy got entangled near the rim and crashed to the guardrails along the baseline with 4:11 left.

The six-year pro out of San Sebastian then apparently flipped the bird by appearing to be scratching his head when the camera focused on him and was flashed at the jumbotron.

Abueva wasn’t assessed for anything, unlike Murphy, who was slapped with a flagrant foul penalty one. He had to sit out for three minutes, but that was no longer an issue as SMB won, 117-100.

Murphy will be summoned by the league tomorrow, Tuesday, October 16.
