The Philippine Basketball Association has approved the trade that sends Carl Cruz to TNT from Blackwater.
However, the league’s trade committee made a revision.
Instead of Chris Javier, TNT will send Jay Washington to Blackwater along with their 2022 and 2025 second round picks. In addition, TNT will no longer receive Rey Mark Acuno.
Washington, 40, only played one game for the Tropang Giga last conference, attempting just one shot.
Last season, the 6-foot-7 big man, who was a two-time Best Player of the Conference, normed 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds.
On the other hand, Cruz will finally get to reunite with Chot Reyes.
Cruz, 30, is a 6-foot-4 gunner who used to be a mainstay in Reyes’ Gilas Pilipinas from 2017-2018.
The product of Far Eastern University, who was part of the 2016 PBA Gilas Draft, played one game in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Injuries though hampered Cruz, making him miss the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup while only playing in seven games a year later.
Cruz averaged 8.1 points on 33.3-percent shooting from downtown with 2.7 rebounds in seven games played for the Bossing last conference.
