ONIC PH stuns Aura PH to close out MPL-PH elims

The storied rivalry between ONIC PH and Aura PH (former Sunsparks) has been going on for almost a year now.

But not once in multiple occasions has ONIC PH won a series against Aura PH ever since their debut back in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Four.

That story, however, was put to an end by Dlar, as he spearheaded ONIC PH’s emotional 2-0 victory over their arch-rivals in the final match of the MPL-PH Season Six regular season, Sunday evening.

Dlar was phenomenal in Game One, winning the SMART MVP award while also finishing with a clean 4-0-4 KDA using Yu Zhong to put Aura PH on the verge of defeat.

He then upped his game in the second match using Barats, applying the much-needed pressure in the early game to help ONIC PH take the early advantage. Dlar dished out nine assists laced with a kill and a death in the series-clinching Game Two. This is also Barats’ first win at the MPL-PH stage.

Wise (Lancelot) took charge of the offense with six kills and four kills while Jay (Jawhead) and OhMyV33NUS had a combined tally of five kills, two deaths, and 18 assists for ONIC PH.

With ONIC PH’s victory, they have locked in the third spot in Group B and will set a rematch with Group A second placer Aura PH in the quarterfinals of the MPL-PH Season Six playoffs. The storied rivalry will be in the bracket of death that also has the BREN Esports versus NXP Solid match-up.

Execration will go up against Cignal Ultra in the other side while Smart Omega will test its mettle against Blacklist International.
