Jeremy Miado returned to contention in a big way.
The 29-year-old Filipino scored a massive upset on Saturday morning, knocking out no. 5-ranked strawweight Danial Williams on ONE Fight Night 3 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The win raised Miado’s winning streak to four wins and is now bound to return to the top five of the ONE Athlete Rankings. Moreover, he is now 12-4 in his prizefighting career.
Needing to impress, Miado found his second wind in the third round, stringing a powerful combination that sent the Thailand-trained muay thai artist Williams to the mat.
It was a slobberknocker in the first round but Miado brought Williams to the ground.
In the second stanza, Miado exchanged with Williams on the standup, seemingly weakening the chin of his opponent as the minutes went by.
The finish then came in the third round.
Williams, meanwhile, dropped to 6-2 in the standings.
