Lito Adiwang squares off with Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 19

Filipino dynamo Lito Adiwang will face a hard-hitting Australian opponent, Danial Williams, in a strawweight mixed martial arts clash at ONE Fight Night 19.

The event is scheduled to take place at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on February 17, promising fans an electrifying showdown between two warriors hungry for victory.

Adiwang (15-5) enters this crucial matchup riding a huge wave of momentum that has defined his remarkable comeback.

Overcoming an 18-month hiatus due to an ACL injury, “Thunder Kid” has surged back into the spotlight with a vengeance.

In September 2023, the 30-year-old Baguio City native made a triumphant return against Adrian Mattheis, securing a lightning-fast stoppage victory in just 23 seconds.

Nearly two months later, Adiwang went on to settle the score with Filipino compatriot Jeremy Miado in a highly anticipated rematch, emerging victorious by unanimous decision.

Now, he aims to secure his third consecutive win at Williams’ expense, further solidifying his case for a spot in the division’s rankings.

However, Adiwang’s path to the Top Five is no walk in the park. Known for his devil-may-care fighting style, Williams (6-2) has instilled fear in his opponents across three disciplines under the ONE Championship banner.

Under MMA rules, his notable accomplishment is a second-round knockout victory over former ONE strawweight MMA champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in February 2022.

While Adiwang aims to continue his winning streak, Williams is hungry for redemption.

“Mini T” has faced setbacks in his last three assignments, starting with a stoppage loss to Miado in October 2022.

Williams then ventured into kickboxing, falling short in two world title bids against Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Di Bella in 2023.

A victory over Adiwang becomes crucial for Williams to reclaim his footing and silence the doubts that may have surfaced in the wake of his recent challenges.
