OhMyV33NUS on missing holiday celebrations: ‘If you have a bigger goal you need to have a bigger sacrifice’

Due to the ongoing M4 World Championships, Blacklist International’s Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario were forced to miss their respective families’ holiday celebrations in the Philippines.

The reigning world champs flew to Jakarta, Indonesia last December 17 – just a few days after they came home from the same country following the IESF World Championships – which forced them to skip both their Christmas and New Year celebrations at home.

Still, it was the least of the power duo’s worries as they remain laser-focused on their title-retention bid in the M-series.

Wise said that he just made sure to deal with the situation with the proper mindset while OhMyV33NUS bared that missing out on the holidays is just one of the many sacrifices that professional players have to make in order to become a champion.

“It’s about the mindset. Because if I’m experiencing holiday in the Philippines, we don’t have M4 and now we have M4 so we didn’t have the chance to celebrate in the Philippines. My family will understand, we will see them (after),” said Wise after leading Blacklist International to a quick win over Incendio Supremacy.

“Sa ‘kin it’s all about passion talaga e. If your dream is to become a world champion, if you have a bigger goal you need to have a bigger sacrifice,” echoed OhMyV33NUS.

Wise, OhMyV33NUS, and the rest of Blacklist International showed up at the Bali United Studio and had a field day, dispatching Incendio Supremacy, 1-0, to take the early lead in Group A of the M4 World Championships.
