OhMyV33nus laments Moonton decision to not give Estes championship skin

The Blacklist Agents are angry.

And they’re calling for Moonton to give the recently-crowned M3 World Champions a much-deserved Estes championship skin.

During a Facebook livestream last Wednesday, Blacklist International skipper Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna revealed that the video game developer picked another hero for the M3 skin.

Since then, the Agents — Blacklist International’s very passionate community — have been calling out Moonton to change their stance.

The Tier One-backed squad has been very vocal about their hero choice for the skin even prior to the world meet.

Blacklist International even agreed in unison during the post-championship press conference that they want Estes — the hero that played a pivotal role in the team’s back-to-back MPL championships and M3 conquest — to be the recipient of the exclusive skin.

“Medyo na-hurt lang ako na tinanong kami in the first place kung anong gusto naming M3 skin,” said OhMyV33NUS during his livestream.

“Sinabi naman ni OHEB na Estes, sinasabi nila Dex, nila coach [Bon Chan], nila ESON, nila EDWARD na Estes, all of us Estes yung bet namin tapos nung sinabi naming Estes yung bet namin, kailangan [pala] three choices and nung sinabi pa lang na ganun I was like legit? Bakit kailangan three choices ano yun multiple choices? Yun pa lang sinabi ko na sa sarili ko na o, legit three choices? So it’s not gonna be Estes for sure. Revenue speaking it’s not gonna be Estes.”

A day after they gave three other choices, Moonton contacted the organization and said that they already picked another hero.

And it’s not Estes.

“So parang medyo nalungkot ako pero inaccept ko na rin agad kasi what’s the sense na ipaglaban ko,” said the support specialist. “Pero nung tinanong yung three choices siyempre nag-send kami but I was like ‘Ah, sige baka may chance ng konti’ pero ‘di na ako umaasa baka lang may chance ng konti na mag Estes pa kasi when you say Blacklist, it’s really Estes, ‘di ba? Even when you ask foreign countries, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia when you say Blacklist it’s really Estes, ‘di ba.

“Kaya nga hindi napi-pick kasi bina-ban and nire-respect din talaga ng ibang teams when you say Blacklist. Then ayun kinabukasan, sinabi na na ‘oh my God, we picked this hero for the M3 skin’ ganto ganiyan kasi pasok daw sa internal plans nila yung hero na yun. And I was like okay as expected,” he added.

As of posting time, the hashtag #WeWantEstes reached 36.5k tweets while Moonton had 11.5k tweets on Twitter as the fans rallied behind Blacklist International.

Tier One bosses Tryke Guttierez and Alodia Gosiengfiao also expressed their support to the team by tweeting the hashtag.

OhMyV33NUS also shared in the livestream that the Blacklist International brass is currently in talks with Moonton regarding the situation.

“Sabi ko, legit? Parang ano pang sense kung tinanong niyo kami kung kayo rin pala mamimili ng skin,” said OhMyV33NUS. “Kahit sabihin mong regardless kung nag bigay kami ng three choices, yung team Estes na yung pinili. Kaya lang naman kami nag bigay ng three heroes kasi you asked us to give three heroes.

“Pero ayun, nung sinabi na na nila na this will be the M3 skin siyempre na frustrate talaga ako and nagreklamo ako. Nung nag reklamo ako idadaan na lang daw sa management and sila sila na lang daw mag uusap since you know,” he added.

The same incident happened in the M2 World Championship when Bren Esports initially picked the hero Chou, but was later given a Lancelot skin.

Lancelot was Bren Esports’ most popular hero at the time all thanks to the exploits of Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno — who even scored the first savage of the M-series using the hero.

However, the team wanted a hero that everybody can play which in that case is Chou. To be fair, Chou also played a crucial role in Bren Esports’ M2 campaign with Allan “Lusty” Castromayor playing the hero for the majority of the tournament.

OhMyV33NUS admitted that he was hurt by the decision.

And with both parties currently in communication, he is hopeful that the situation can still be resolved.

“May chance na mabago but I doubt it. It’s unlikely na mabago,” said OhMyV33nus. “Ako na-hurt ako in a way na parang ang pangit na ipilit pa na maging Estes yun kung in the first place parang ayaw na ni Moonton ng Estes so parang pinipilit mong bigyan ka ng regalo nung taong ayaw ka namang bigyan.

“So ayun, natanggap ko naman na ngayon. Actually masakit slight ‘di ko naman ide-deny, nasaktan talaga ako nung umpisa I’m not gonna deny that. But you know, it is what it is.”
