Kiel “OHEB” Soriano wasted no time making his presence felt in his Team Liquid debut, delivering a standout performance to lead TLPH to a commanding 2-0 sweep of Team Falcons PH in MPL Philippines Season 15 on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
The former Blacklist International star earned MVP honors in the two-game series.
In Game 1, he delivered an electrifying Maniac play with Granger just before the match concluded. He then followed it up with a flawless performance on Harith in Game 2.
“Para sa akin, sobrang saya nila kalaro kase parang hindi ako nape-pressure. Parang ginagawa ko lang kung ano gusto kong laruin ta’s sila rin yung bahala na umalalay sa akin. Kaya parang naging sobrang saya ko sa laro,” OHEB shared in an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times.
OHEB’s transition to Team Liquid has been smooth, with Team Liquid adjusting to his playstyle without making any drastic changes.
Despite the limited time together, the chemistry between OHEB and his new teammates has already been evident in their early performances.
“Parehong nag-adjust eh. Kasi yung playstyle ko tsaka yung playstyle ng Team Liquid PH parang similar lang din. Kaya noong pumasok ako sa team nila, parang nag-sync lang din kami kaagad kase hindi nagkakalayo yung playstyle namin,” he explained.
“Masaya naman sa bootcamp. Parang madali lang makisama sa kanila. Ta’s sobrang gaang nilang kasama.”
Despite the dominant victory, OHEB remains grounded and focused on what lies ahead for the team in the tournament.
While TLPH has high aspirations, he understands there’s still plenty of work to be done.
“Sa ngayon, hindi ko pa masasabi. Pero susubukan namin tsaka gagawin lang namin talaga yung best namin. I-improve din namin yung mga pagkakamali namin sa kada laban namin. Ta-try din namin na mag-champion kami,” he concluded.
