Nexplay EVOS made quick work of El Ganador Esports, 2-0, to advance to the upper bracket of the Sibol Mobile Legends: Bang Bang national team selection on Thursday evening.
The new-look Nexplay EVOS put the clamps early on El Ganador Esports, scoring a lopsided 14-3 Game One win in 16 minutes and 34 seconds of game time.
Despite the new faces around him, John Paul “H2wo” Salonga had no troubles adjusting. He finished with six kills and four assists against three deaths on Paquito to lead NXP to an early 1-0 series advantage over the amateur squad.
Meanwhile, Minguin (Kagura) was the lone bright spot for El Ganador after scoring all three of the team’s kills in the match. He also had two deaths in the contest.
El Ganador was able to keep Game Two close against the MPL squad, but a four-man wipe near the Lord pit in the 16:22-mark gave the upper hand to Nexplay EVOS.
The John “Zico_” Dizon-coached squad took a 14-6 win in 16 minutes and 37 seconds to seal the series.
Mariusz “Donut” Tan (Brody) paced NXP with five kills, a death, and five assists.
RSG PH and ONIC PH already advanced to the upper bracket earlier in the day. Meanwhile, Omega Esports and Origen Esports were sent down the losers’ bracket.
