Natsumi’s Ember Spirit powers Neon Esports to top of DPC standings

John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas’ monster Ember Spirit performance in Game Three powered Neon Esports’ come-from-behind 2-1 win of 496 Gaming in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Season 1-Southeast Asia Upper Division, last Saturday.

With the victory, the all-Filipino squad is now at the top of the standings with a 2-0 card.

The 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist recorded 20 kills and 19 assists against three deaths with Ember Spirit in the one-sided Game Three win.

496 Gaming called gg in the 24:35-minute mark.

It was a dominant outing for Neon Esports which was ignited by an Ultra Kill from Gabriel “Skem” Ong’s Keeper of the Light right before the horn.

Neon Esports dropped a tightly contested Game One, which lasted for 56 minutes and 45 seconds, but managed to steal Game Two all thanks to Ejay “PlayHard” Banquil’s superb Pangolier play.

The Neon team captain scored seven kills and 22 assists against four deaths to help his team even the series at a 1-all deadlock.

Meanwhile, Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer bounced back in Game Two, scoring 15 kills and 14 assists with two deaths using Puck.

The Vietnamese squad called gg in the 28:43-mark after being outscored by Neon Esports, 16-32, in the kills department.

Neon Esports will go up against Filipino powerhouse TNC Predator on January 30, Saturday.
