Despite taking the Playoff MVP during the MPL Philippines Season 9, RSG Slate Philippines EXP laner Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo believes he is now a challenger and looks up to Echo’s Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya.
“Kasi parang bagong team lang po kami, tapos si Sanford po nag-champion siya. Challenger po ako ngayon kasi siya yung gusto kong lagpasan pa, si Sanford,” Nathzz said.
“Challenger ako ngayon tapos siya yung tinitingala ko. Yun yung laging iniisip ko.”
Nathzz looked to have hit a dry spell since Season 10 after a dominant performance in Season 9 that helped RSG take its first franchise title.
RSG head coach Brian “Panda” Lim believes it was the change in meta that affected Nathzz in Season 10 and coming into Season 11.
“Nung sa Season 9 kasi the meta was quite straight forward, Esme, Uranus. When it comes sa mga zoning heroes like Esme for Nathzz, it’s literally unstoppable. You give so much space,” shared coach Panda.
“Ngayon kasi, Esme is not really in the meta. Heroes like Yu-Zhong, Lapu-Lapu, Benedetta, Arlott, Gloo, yung mga skill shot-damage heroes are popular. Kaya he needs to really calculate carefully when he pasok inside. Is he malalim or hindi,” he continued
But with RSG’s recent surge, winning three of their last four games, Nathzz looked to have adjusted with the current meta.
Against Nexplay Evos, his Benedetta finished with an 8-2-5 KDA, highlighted by a 1-on-4 outplay that took down the enemy goldlaner.
In Game 3 of the series, he took the match MVP honors courtesy of a 4-1-10 KDA on Yu-Zhong who was instrumental in their objective taking during a tight rubber match.
Nathzz performance will be key as RSG tries to deal reigning world champions Echo their first season loss tomorrow.
