ECHO secured their fourth win in as many matches after a dominating performance against TNC Pro Team, concluding their Week 2 campaign in the MPL Philippines Season 13 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City on Sunday.
The M4 World Champions remained undefeated and retained the top spot with 12 points, having secured four wins without any losses.
The Orcas had to survive a closely contested opening encounter against TNC, with multiple lead changes. However, Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar (Karrie) maintained steady composure throughout the game, leading ECHO to victory in the opening match with a flawless 2-0-3 KDA.
In Game 2, it was Justine “Zaida” Palma’s time to shine as his exceptional performance with the Nolan pick proved too much for TNC, assisting ECHO in comfortably completing the sweep with a monstrous 10-0-4 KDA.
According to head coach Archie “Tictac” Reyes, the draft played a crucial role in the decisive victory.
“Naging factor dun is yung draft. Kasi yung Nolan talaga sobrang OP talaga nun eh. Lalo na si Zaida yung humawak ng Nolan,” he explained.
“Siguro di lang nirespect yung Nolan ni Zaida. Nabigay yung comfort hero niya kaya malaking factor din.”
ECHO will take a one-week break before returning to action in Week 3 against Smart Omega on April 5.
