TNC Pro Team continued with their massive resurrection in the late season taking down another powerhouse team in Echo, 2-0, in the penultimate week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati on Friday.
The Phoenix Army is closing in for the last ticket to the playoffs as they improved to 3-9 with 10pts, just one game behind Onic Philippines who has 13pts. Both teams still have two matches left this season.
“Yung sa Game 2, lamang nung early to mid. Nagkaron din siguro kami ng mga onteng error kaya medyo tumagal din yung game. Tsaka magaling din kasi talaga ang Echo,” said assistant coach Jemson “Scholar” Ignacio.
Despite the hiccups, Coach Scholar still lauded his wards for displaying nerves of steel in surviving Echo’s surge late in Game 2.
“Overall, nakakaamaze lang din kasi sobrang composed nilang lahat sa game,” he added.
TNC looked invincible in the opener buoyed by Ben “Benthings” Maglaque ( initiations that helped King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez (Lancelot) secure the first two turtles.
Benthings dominated his match-up against Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, who was flaunting his signature Chou, limiting the latter to a paltry 0-8-3 KDA.
He took the MVP honors in leading TNC to a monstrous 18-4 annihilation on the kill tally.
Game 2 was a dogfight with TNC establishing a 7k gold lead from the early to mid-game but a mishap towards the late game enabled ECHO to recover.
K1NGKONG then clutched the 36th-minute lord while picking off Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Alice). That gave TNC the space to make the final base turret push and complete the sweep.
