In esports, every mistake is magnified.
For TNC Pro Team’s midlaner Lance “LanceCy” Cunan, that often means carrying the weight of blame whenever the Phoenix Army falters.
In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, LanceCy shared that he has learned to block out negativity instead of letting it drag him down.
“Parang wala lang sa’kin ‘yun eh. Mas naka-focus ako sa mga naniniwala sa’kin,” he said after TNC’s 2-1 loss to ONIC.
His solution is simple: stay away from the noise.
“Hindi ko na binabasa (yung mga pamba-bash), hindi ako nagbabasa ng mga comments.”
He admitted that the blame game only started last season, but thanks to advice from TNC’s team manager, Jemson “Scholar” Ignacio, he learned to brush off the hate.
And while bashers point out his mistakes, LanceCy chooses to turn the criticism into motivation.
“Para sa’kin mas ilabas ko nalang yung laro ko, wag pa-pressure, kasi kahit anong mangyare iba-bash pa rin talaga eh,” explained LanceCy on how he responds to harsh comments.
At the end of the day, he hopes people will recognize his contributions rather than dwell on his slipups.
“Gusto kong ipakita yung mga naiaambag ko sa team na sa loob ng game na kami lang yung nakakakita.”
