MPL PH: TNC registers massive win in thriller over Bren

TNC Pro Team scored their biggest win to date, slaying league-leading Bren Esports, 2-1, to snap the latter’s nine-game winning streak in Week 6 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 on Sunday.

They kept themselves into the playoff race with this much needed win, improving to seven points, just four points behind Nexplay Evos (11pts) going into the final two weeks of the regular season.

According to TNC rookie King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez, the team finally found their groove after addressing their hesitation plays. This was very much apparent in their matches during the last two weeks that saw them compete toe-to-toe against powerhouse teams like Blacklist International and RSG Slate Philippines.

“Yung pagiging efficient po sa laro pero di mapipigilan yung takaw mo,” he said on what was key during today’s victory. “Kasi may times na napipigilan ng ano….kunwari co-call kami ng play sa isang clash tas makukulangan sa tapang, may mapipigilan na play na alam naming ikakaganda (sana) ng team namin.”

TNC surprised Bren in the opener with a dominant 5k gold lead as early as the 7th-minute courtesy of Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Khufra) pinpoint set-up plays to lead a 5-1 lead on the kill tally.

The Phoenix Army did not feel threatened from there and used the 17th-minute lord to take the Game 1 win led by K1NGKONG’s (Lancelot) massive 6-0-1 KDA.

Bren once again delivered a masterclass in the drafting Phase in Game 2, taking Phoveus for the midlane and Helcurt for the jungler role was both utilized to their fullest.

Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel (Phoveus) finished with a perfect 1-0-8 KDA while Kyle Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson (Helcurt) scored a double kill in the dying moments to finish with a 3-0-1 KDA.

In Game 3, Pheww (Joy) set the tone early by propelling Bren to a 3k gold lead by the 5th-minute build around a 6-1 kill spread. He was already on a 3-0-2 KDA at that point.

But Joemarie “Escalera” Delos Santos (Lylia) scored a double kill in the 16th minute that helped TNC secure the luminous lord followed by John Vincent “Innocent” Banal (Beatrix) kill on KyleTzy that helped them secure the 21st-minute lord and take the series.
