MPL PH: TNC ends season on a high, denies RSG’s upper bracket bid

TNC Pro Team completed a 2-1 reverse sweep of RSG Philippines to prevent the latter from getting a shot at the last upper bracket berth to the playoffs of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios, Makati City on Sunday.

TNC finished the season with a 3-11 record, with the two wins coming in their final two matches against Blacklist International and RSG. The Phoenix army, however, still finished dead last with 11 points.

In Game 1, Arvie “Aqua” Calderon (Valentina) went on rampage to set the tone for RSG, taking a smooth 5-0-7 KDA before getting shut down in the 14th minute.

It didn’t matter though as RSG’s 11k net worth lead proved too much for TNC, taking the opener after almost 19 minutes of action.

But TNC did not go down without a fight as they came out with guns blazing in Game 2, banking on King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez’s (Joy) brilliance as he secured all turtle buffs and the first lord objective while exploding for a 3-0-4 KDA by the 10th minute.

He capped off his stellar performance with a Maniac kill streak in the 13th minute that ultimately forced the extension, 1-1.

With K1NGKONG securing his Fanny pick in Game 3, TNC cruised to a dominant 19-minute win over RSG to clinch the series.

RSG can still secure the third seed in the playoffs if Blacklist loses in at least one game against AP.Bren later today. The third seed will have the advantage of choosing which team from the 5th-6th finishers they will face in the play-ins for the upper bracket.
