MPL PH: TNC closes in on third seed, makes quick work of ONIC

TNC dispatched ONIC PH through a swift 2-0 win in the MPL Philippines Season Nine on Sunday night.

Last year’s last-placed team tightened its grip on the third spot with 24 points off a 9-5 win-loss standing.

TNC’s surgical approach overwhelmed ONIC PH in the opener, taking a 5-5 Game One win in just 13 minutes and 30 seconds of action.

Everything turned sidewards after Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Lolita) and Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos (Lylia) delayed Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s Lancelot in the serpent pit entering the first minute of the contest.

Though Kairi was able to secure the buff, the move proved to be too costly as Daniel “SDzyz” Chu’s Karina got a huge head start over the ONIC PH jungler.

SDzyz finished with two kills and two assists while Robee “Yasuwo” Pormocille’s Clint had three kills and an assist.

Ahead by a slim margin in Game Two, TNC punished ONIC PH’s initiation past the 17th mark, securing a five-man wipe that allowed them to take the Luminous Lord.

ONIC PH lost Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio’s Phoveus early in the defense. This led to a swift siege for TNC.

SDzyz once again led the win, finishing with a game-high 10 kills along with three deaths and eight assists on Ling while Mark “Kramm” Rusiana had eight kills and 14 assists against four deaths on Thamuz in the 27-12 Game Two win in 19 minutes and 29 seconds.MPL-PH-9-TNC-def-ONIC-Game-2 MPL PH: TNC closes in on third seed, makes quick work of ONIC ESports Mobile Legends MPL-PH News - philippine sports news

ONIC PH, who already secured its spot in the playoffs, still has 17 points off a 7-5 slate.

TNC will face Nexplay EVOS on Saturday at 4:00 PM while ONIC PH will return on Friday against ECHO at 8:00 PM.
