SOURCES: Kairi set to sign with Indonesia’s ONIC Esports

Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol is set to fulfill a lifelong dream.

The 16-year-old jungler out of Limay, Bataan is heading to Indonesia to suit up for ONIC Esports in the upcoming 10th season of MPL Indonesia.

Hyprgame was the first to report the development and confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by multiple sources.

The former Blacklist International jungler, who revealed in previous interviews that his favorite team is ONIC Esports, will be a welcome addition to the Indonesian powerhouse’s side that suffered a couple of heartbreaking losses in the past year.

After winning two consecutive titles in the MPL Indonesia Season Eight and the MPL Invitationals last year, ONIC’s flagship squad entered the M3 World Championships as the clear-cut favorite to win it all.

Unfortunately, the team met eventual world champions Blacklist International in the second round of the lower bracket which booted them out via a 2-1 affair and relegated them to 9th-12th place.

The team failed to retain its title in Season Nine but managed to secure a silver medal finish to qualify for the 2022 MSC. There, the team had an underwhelming campaign once again that saw them finish at 9th-12th place.

Joining Kairi – who is set to become the first Filipino import in the MLBB professional scene – in the unprecedented move is former ONIC PH head coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda, who already made an appearance during the team’s group stage campaign in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup.

Yeb, meanwhile, is on track to become the third Filipino to coach a team overseas after Francis “Duckey” Glindro (REVO, EVOS Legends) and John “Zico” Dizon (Burn X Flash).

ONIC PH is set to announce Kairi’s release in the coming days while Yeb’s departure was already revealed by the organization last Monday.
