MPL PH: RSG stops Echo streak at 11, secures playoff spot

RSG Philippines played the spoilers as they snapped Echo’s 11-game winning streak with a 2-0 sweep in the penultimate week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios, Makati City on Sunday.

RSG recovered from a draft mishap in their previous outing where an error during the draft led to a sweep at the hands of Minana. They now have 20pts, built around a 7-5 win-loss card and are assured of a playoff spot.

Echo, on the other hand, failed to reset the longest win streak in the MPL Philippines. The record stays at 11 which was also achieved by Blacklist International back in Season 7.

In Game 1, RSG pulled off a miraculous 3v5 base defense in the 19th minute before Dylan “Light” Catipon (Kaja) and Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Karrie) executed a genius backline ambush that sparked an equalizing 4-1 exchange.

EMANN then outplayed Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Bruno) during a 24th minute skirmish in the midlane that led to RSG’s win, 1-0.

In Game 2, RSG opted to punish Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Yu Zhong) in the early game then pulled through during the 17th minute lord fight to complete the sweep.
