MPL PH: RSG sends Omega back down to earth, keeps win streak alive

RSG Philippines continued their rampage and secured a fourth straight victory at the expense of Smart Omega in Week 4 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Saturday at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.

The Raiders improved to 5-3 with 16 points, tying ECHO (5-2) for the third spot in the standings.

Omega, coming off a rousing 2-0 win over TNC Pro Team, suffered their seventh loss, remaining a distant seventh with four points.

Despite a dominant win, RSG head coach Brian “Panda” Lim was seen concerned after his team’s botched plays in Game 1 that could’ve led to a loss.

“Nawala lahat ng kasiyahan ko na nagsimula mula sa umpisa hanggang gitna ng laro. Baka maging negatibo ang aking ugali pero mataas ang inaasahan ko sa mga manlalaro ko,” said Panda of what happened in Game 1.

The Raiders showcased their dominance in the opener, leading by as much as 9k in net worth as early as the 6th minute, courtesy of Patrick “rTzy” Grecia’s (Novaria) 3-0-9 KDA.

They endured a disastrous 10th-minute sequence where Jayson “U K I R” Alupit (Faramis) scored a double kill for Omega.

However, RSG quickly reset as Clarense “Kusey” Camilo’s (Hairth) double kill late in the 13th minute sparked the game-winning base turret siege.

Kusey quickly apologized to his coach right after committing costly errors in the opening game.

“Binigyan lang kami ng paalala ni Coach Panda na hindi masyadong maging mainitin ang ulo at magpakita ng disiplina sa laro,” shared Kusey on what Panda told the team in the dugout heading into Game 2.

In Game 2, RSG completed a perfect victory, not conceding any deaths during the 13-minute win.

rTzy (Valentina) led the way with another spotless 3-0-8 KDA to spearhead RSG’s 11-0 spread on the kill tally.

RSG will next face the red-hot ONIC Philippines on Friday, April 19th.
