RSG Philippines finally secured their first back-to-back wins this season with a 2-0 sweep of TNC Pro Team on Saturday in the MPL Philippines Season 13 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.
The reigning MPL Invitation 2024 champions improved to 10 points, courtesy of a 3-3 win-loss card, while handing their opponent their second straight loss, settling for three points.
According to Coach Panda, TNC had an impressive early-game strategy but failed to capitalize on their lead during crucial team fights, ultimately leading to RSG’s victory.
“TNC had a really strong early game. Regarding the first turtle, they weren’t really behind compared to other top-tier teams right now. Even we, considering ourselves strong in the early game, saw how TNC dominated us. Especially in their utilization of early-game heroes,” he said.
“They (TNC) need to improve their overall team fight coordination because I feel they’re just reacting to what’s happening rather than having synchronized communication about what needs to be done.”
In Game 1, Arvie “Aqua” Calderon carried RSG, executing a three-man Minoan Fury set-up play late in the 16th minute, capped off by a double kill, forcing a game-winning 5-0 wipeout, 1-0.
Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo shone in Game 2, with his performance with the Benedetta pick providing the necessary distractions to secure objectives in a close game against TNC.
His MVP performance helped RSG complete the sweep.
RSG will conclude the first half of the season against Blacklist International on Friday, April 12.
