Smart Omega finally snapped out of a six-game losing streak by defeating TNC Pro Team, 2-0, in Week 4 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Friday at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.
Omega leapfrogged TNC for the seventh spot with four points. It was TNC’s fourth straight loss and they fell to the bottom of the standings with only three points to show.
“Etong week kasi na to nagta-try kami sa mga scrims kunyari yung Roger funnel tsaka yung double fighter. Nag-eexperiment kami sa mga scrims hanggnag sa makuha namin yung tamang timpla. So tinry namin sa tournament, ayun gumana,” explained John “H2wo” Salonga on what keyed their maiden win this season.
In his debut, Jayson “U K I R” Alupit (Faramis) delivered an impressive performance, leading Omega to a dominant victory in the opening match.
U K I R’s 2-0-10 KDA spearheaded a scintillating 12-3 lead in kills, granting Omega their first game win since Game 2 against RSG Philippines in the opening week.
In Game 2, it was H2wo’s time to shine as his Roger finished with a perfect 6-0-6 KDA to complete the sweep.
Omega will aim for a second straight win in a rematch against RSG Philippines on Saturday, April 13th.
